Dividend payment date

The dividend policy of an enterprise is a plan of action to be followed whenever you decide about the distribution of dividends. The policy should be considered taking into account two basic objectives: to maximize the benefit of the owners of the company and provide sufficient funding.

Dividends are profits that are paid to shareholders in return for their investment. There are three important dates in the process of dividends:

  • Declaration date: The shareholders declared a dividend (this is the only one who has that power).
  • Date d record: It is what defines the period of service for shareholders to claim dividends.
  • Payment Date: The date on which the checks are delivered.
